Oil and energy

Crude, gas and energy market headlines from across the wire, updated through the day.

Oil is the market where the gap between a headline and its meaning is widest. A supply disruption story that crosses at 03:00 London time and the same story reported again after the New York open are not the same event: the first moves Brent, the second usually just records that it moved. This page keeps a rolling 72 hours of crude, natural gas, refining and OPEC headlines from eight desks in the order they actually broke, so that distinction stays visible.

What lands here: Brent and WTI price moves, OPEC and OPEC+ policy, inventory and rig-count data, LNG and European gas, refinery outages, pipeline and shipping disruption, and the sanctions and geopolitical stories that reprice the barrel before any of the above catches up.

What to watch for when reading it: the same story appearing from three sources inside twenty minutes usually means a wire pickup rather than three confirmations, and a price move with no headline above it is worth more attention than a headline with no move under it.

Headlines link straight to the publisher. Nothing is reproduced here beyond the headline itself.
